What's Involved

This Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Advice and Guidance provides learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding to work in advice and guidance. The mandatory units cover interacting with clients, legislation and procedures, operating within networks, managing their personal case load and evaluate and developing their own contribution to the service. There is also a range of optional units which allow the learner to develop their skills in a range of areas chosen to suit their personal development and the needs of their job role. Learners must achieve a minimum of 37 credits.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent and be able to work at Level 3 or above The qualification is suitable for learners of 18 years of age and above.

Where will it take me?

Successful learners can progress to employment within organisations by managing caseloads of clients and gaining a qualification in Careers Advice and Guidance.

Portfolios will be assessed by a variety of assessment methods. This will include:

  • Observations;
  • Written questions;
  • Case studies;
  • Assignments;
  • Witness testimonies.
