This Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Advice and Guidance provides learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding to work in advice and guidance. The mandatory units cover interacting with clients, legislation and procedures, operating within networks, managing their personal case load and evaluate and developing their own contribution to the service. There is also a range of optional units which allow the learner to develop their skills in a range of areas chosen to suit their personal development and the needs of their job role. Learners must achieve a minimum of 37 credits.

This qualification is intended for assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual's work environment.

It includes the following assessment methods (although not all of these require performance evidence):

  • Assessments of the learner in simulated environments;
  • Skills tests;
  • Oral and written questions;
  • Assignments;
  • Projects;
  • Case studies; and
  • Recognising prior learning.

This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment other than assessing competence in a work environment.

The Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice provides learners with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable learners to perform the role of internal quality assurer. To gain this unit you will be required to have two Assessors and two Learners per Assessor.

The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable learners to lead a team of internal quality assurers.
