4 GCSEs at 4 / C or above, or equivalent qualifications or related experience. You will progress onto the Extended Diploma after successful completion of the Diploma in the first year.

Where will it take me?

The department currently offers a progression route to the BA in Contemporary Music and Technology (Open University) which students need to apply for through UCAS.

This may lead to work within studios, music retail outlets, composer or a freelance musician. Previous students have gained employment within studios, as session musicians and as touring live musicians.

Course Assessment Method

The Extended Diploma is a 180 credit qualification. Assessment is practically based and will include performances, presentations, written reports and in some instances tests. As this is a vocational programme the majority of this work is project based and the aim of the course is to build a portfolio of music related products whether they be compositions, recordings or performances.
