Media Music Performing Arts

What's Involved

This course makes full use of our state-of-the-art television, radio and design studios. Your teachers are industry professionals who will help you to develop the practical skills you need, as well as showing you how to develop the research and planning aspects of any production. Throughout the course you will develop practical skills across multiple disciplines alongside like-minded creative students, culminating in professional, industry-relevant outcomes that will form a portfolio of work to prepare you for Level 3 study.

You can expect to study:

  • Film & TV Production
  • Editing Techniques
  • Audio Production
  • Digital Design & Page Layout
  • Media Research and Context
  • Problem Solving

You will also undertake a final end of year project that will allow you to utilise the various skills acquired throughout the course. This Level 2 Creative Media Production Diploma is equivalent to 4 GCSEs.

Students will study an English and/or Maths qualification alongside the course if they have not previously achieved a grade 4 in GCSE English Language or Maths.

    Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grade 3.

    Where will it take me?

    Successful students can progress to our Level 3 courses in Media, Games, Animation, VFX or Art and Design or the course can be used as a foundation to progress to other subjects at Level 3. You may decide to seek an apprenticeship in the creative industry and career options could include jobs in graphic design, social media managers, digital specialists, fashion and textiles, theatre or interior design.
