Media Music Performing Arts

What's Involved

The course offers an exciting project-based approach where you will develop your performing/production arts skills alongside like-minded performing artists culminating in professional, industry-relevant outcomes that will form a portfolio of work to prepare you for Level 3 study. We’re proud of our community of performing and creative artists and you’ll be encouraged to collaborate with other courses to deliver an industry-like experience. We will support your development as either a performer or production artist in a range of areas.

You can expect to study:

  • Introduction to Performance and Production
  • Communicating with an Audience
  • Staging a Performance
  • Performance/Production Skills and Practice
  • Producing a Performance to an Audience
  • Personal Project and Audition Skills

You will also undertake a final end of year project that will allow you to utilise the various skills acquired throughout the course. This Level 2 Performing and Production Arts Diploma is equivalent to 4 GCSEs.

Students will study an English and/or Maths qualification alongside the course if they have not previously achieved a grade 4 in GCSE English Language or Maths. 

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 3, plus a successful audition.

Where will it take me?

Successful students can progress to our Level 3 Performing and Production Arts course or the course can be used as a foundation to progress to other subjects at Level 3. You may decide to seek an apprenticeship or training in the performing or production arts industry and career options, after further study, could include jobs in the theatre, contemporary music and entertainment or arts education, technical production or arts administration.
