What's Involved

You will have an interest in Performing Arts and already have two GCSEs at Grade 3 / D and/or above. This course may be the first step in achieving your ambition of working in the entertainment industry.

You will study specialist units in drama or dance. Your chosen pathway will focus on the subject area that you are interested in, for example; acting or dance techniques, musical theatre techniques, physical theatre. This course culminates in a live performance towards the end of the year long course.

This course is the equivalent to 4 GCSEs.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 3, plus a successful audition.

Where will it take me?

There are a variety of employment opportunities in the performing arts industry. Employment as an actor, dancer, director, choreographer, teacher, arts administrator, animator, technical theatre. The majority of students on this course continue their education on the Extended Diploma Performing Arts to further develop their skills and knowledge in their chosen pathway.

Course Assessment Method

Assessment will take a variety of forms: projects (written and performance), recorded work, practical work, short essay, written and/or aural evaluations.
