Early Years Health Social Care

The BA (Hons) Social Work is the professional qualification required to apply for registration as a Social Worker in the UK. You will join a committed and highly enthusiastic group of students and find a warm and supportive environment, learning skills, knowledge and values that will equip you for your chosen career. This specialist course is validated by the Open University and approved by the Health and Care Professions Council. Accreditation is being sought from the College of Social Work. This is a classroom based full time degree over 3 years.

The course covers the following compulsory modules that you will study:

LEVEL 4:

  • Academic study skills;
  • Self, identity and values;
  • Theories and methods for practice;
  • Human development across the life course;
  • Law for Social Workers;
  • Skills for effective working with service users.

LEVEL 5:

  • Social policy and social justice;
  • Using research and evidence in practice;
  • Practice with adult service users;
  • Practice with children and families;
  • Practice placement 1.

LEVEL 6:

  • Research in action;
  • Specialist issues, innovative and leadership;
  • Practice placement 2.
