What's Involved

These programmes are bespoke methods of assessing and recording individual learner progress. They will run at Entry Level 2/3 and Level 1. The focus of these courses are to develop learner’s skills and focus on working towards their short and long term targets as identified and stated on their EHCP’s. These programmes will be learner centred, engaging and innovative where learners will work on many skills including: English and maths, independent living, employability skills, engaging with the world around them and developing relationships. The Preparing for Adulthood agenda and its four main destinations (Independent Living, Employment, Good Health and Friends, Relationships and Community) will steer these personalised programmes.

• Runs 3 days per week. • Learners will undertake a bespoke programme. • Undertake work placement/experience, with support if required. • Learners are fully supported in and out of the class if required.

• Timetabled lessons will include:

• English & maths • Tutorial • ICT (on line shopping, e safety, social media, using specialist software) • Employability Skills (personal/interview skills, CV writing, job requirements) • Time management skills • Accessing community facilities (leisure facilities, GP/Dentist appointments) • Independent Living Skills (Cooking, housework, budgeting) • Hobbies/Leisure interests • Good health/fitness • Improving own confidence • Enterprise

Entry Requirements

No formal requirements. Entry via successful interview

Where will it take me?

There is the opportunity for progression onto a higher level course or the long term destination as identified in the EHCP and meeting the PFA agenda.

Course Assessment Method

Assessment is ongoing through the academic year and paced at the learner level.
