What's Involved

This qualification runs at Entry Level 1 (Formally Pre Entry). All students are fully supported in and out of the class if required. The focus of this course is to develop student’s skills in areas such as communications, reading and writing, mathematics, independent living, skills for the workplace and engaging with the world around them.

  • The course runs 4 days per week;
  • You will gain a nationally recognised qualification in Personal Progress in line with Foundation Learning;
  • You will also participate in enterprise activities and undertake work placement/experience, with support if required.

Timetabled lessons include:

  • Cooking;
  • Early Maths;
  • Early English;
  • Engaging with the world around us;
  • Independent living skills;
  • Horticulture.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. Entry is via a successful interview.

Where will it take me?

There is the opportunity for progression using the Personal Progress Continuum Scale.

Course Assessment Method

Assessment is ongoing through the academic year. All areas of study are compulsory and are fully supported.
