What's Involved

This course provides the basic skills and knowledge required to for employment as a bricklayer. Techniques covered include brick and block walling, arch work, pointing and setting out of buildings. Instruction will also be given in the safe use of tools and equipment associated with this trade.

Entry Requirements

Students must usually have completed the Level 1 Diploma. All places are subject to a satisfactory interview and Skillsbuilder assessment.

Where will it take me?

Progression to level 3 studies or jobs in the construction, bricklaying and paving trades.

Course Assessment Method

Learners will be assessed on practical and theoretical elements and assignments throughout the programme, and will complete an online City and Guilds examination.

If you do not hold a GCSE level 4/C in English and Maths, you will also study either GCSE or Functional Skills in these subjects (16-18 year olds only).
