Havering College Beauty Therapy student has beat off fierce competition to secure a place in the UK WorldSkills finals.
Katie White, 18, from Romford, won the South of England regional heats held in Broadstairs Kent, by outshining 25 fierce competitors and has secured a place to represent the region and the College in the UK WorldSkills national finals to be held on 18-21st November at the SkillsShow, NEC Birmingham.
Aspiring entrepreneurs from Havering College visited London’s Freemasons’ Hall last week (July 2), to celebrate graduating from the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy. They joined young people from colleges across the country at the prestigious venue for an afternoon ceremony with Peter Jones CBE, whose charity, the Peter Jones Foundation, runs the academy.
Judy MacKenzie, a graduating student from the BA 3D Design Craft course, was selected as Highly Commended and 'one to watch' by the Craft & Design Magazine at the national New Designers' exhibition hosted at the Business Design Centre in London.
Thanks to the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering, Havering College of Further and Higher Education are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the honour of being an approved training centre.
A group of 20 young people and staff marched in the London Pride parade on the 27th June 2015. This group included Havering College LGBTA students and Paris Youth Newham LGBT young people, as both of these groups have worked on various projects and events together, forming a tight partnership between the two.
