Girls Fish Out a Mural
A colourful shoal of fish cavort across a six-foot ceramic mural made by these girls on the girls on the pre-nursing course at the Hornchurch College of Further Education.

It is the first contribution in a new scheme formulated at a recent Finance and Law Committee when it was suggested schools and Colleges should be asked to provide artistic features to decorate Havering Public Buildings.

Early this month, Chief Education Officer Mr. David wilcockson asked Heads of Schools to discuss the project with their art departments and sea shoals is the first fruit of the scheme

Said Mr. Wilcockson: “the mosaic is a first class piece of work- beautifully composed and highly decorative. It is the kind of decoration I would like to see in the entrance to a swimming pool."
