havering college enterprise students hope 4 havering charity donation

It was our pleasure to donate £800 to Hope 4 Havering last week in recognition of their contribution to the local community.

Hope 4 Havering is a charity dedicated to tackling the borough’s homelessness. Their Catalyst Night Shelter is open every night of the week, and they strive to identify the specific help that each guest needs in securing accommodation and accessing employment.

The donation is a result of our Level 3 Enterprise students’ (pictured) fundraising efforts during the last academic year. They planned and ran a small enterprise stall in the refectory, where they sold cakes, sweets, birthday cards and drinks. All proceeds were donated to Hope 4 Havering.

Such assignments give the students a good opportunity to put into practice what they have been learning on their course, and in doing so preparing them for similar opportunities in their professional career.

We would like to highly commend Hope 4 Havering for their continued efforts, and extend a thank you to our staff and students that took part in the enterprise sales to raise money for such a good cause.
