havering college gcse results day 2018

It is with great pride that we announce a huge improvement in our GCSE results this year.

The overall percentage of GCSE high grades 9-4 (formally A*-C) for English and mathematics has seen a staggering 4.3% increase from last year, with GCSE English language results seeing the biggest increase of 14% in comparison to the previous year.

An increasing number of learners have secured their next steps, with some moving on to confirmed placements with employers and colleges. At Havering College, we have a legacy of success in securing positive destinations for our learners and we are very pleased to continue doing so.

Among the high achievers was Hakan Esmahilpour, who achieved a 7 for maths. Hakan is going to enrol on an access course here at Havering College to study Engineering. Similarly, Madeline MacNamara achieved a 6 in English language and looks forward to continuing studying for a career in the legal sector.

Vice Principal Asfa Sohail said of these achievements:

We are extremely proud of our learners and staff and the continuing improvement trend in our results, including the legacy of success in securing positive destinations for our learners. We have been able to achieve these improvements through the sheer hard work of our staff and learners.

Huge congratulations to all staff and learners at Havering College. We look forward to another successful academic year ahead.
