Havering College Further Education Awards 2018 Guest Speaker Bonita Norris

On Wednesday 27th June we welcomed students and their families to our annual Further Education Awards, where our guest of honour was Bonita Norris.

Bonita is an adventurer, author and motivational speaker. In 2010 she became the then-youngest British woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest at the age of 22 and has since broken many mountaineering records.

She has spent the past 8 years speaking internationally for famous brands including Bentley Motors, Zurich and PWC just to name a few, and we were honoured to welcome her to Havering College.

The values of hard-work, commitment and resilience that Bonita demonstrated in her presentation (above) were reflected in all students that attended and were nominated for awards, and a great evening was had by all to celebrate their success.

Stan Rose, the College's Chair of Governors, said of the evening:

The Further Education awards ceremony was successfully staged – congratulations to everyone concerned for making the event so memorable.

Well done to all of our nominees and winners.
