The Ardleigh Green Family Centre in partnership with Havering College of Further & Higher Education and Ardleigh Green Junior School have been nominated for a Community Award at the TES Awards 2017, an awarding body that celebrates the extraordinary commitment, quality and innovation shown by teachers and support staff across the UK.
Tes Schools Awards, now in its ninth year, actively award and recognise schools who are raising the standards of education and making a positive impact on the personal and academic success of students and the wider community.
This has been a huge achievement for the non-profit charity located in Hornchurch, Essex. Having served the local community for over 8 years, particularly for parents and toddlers, the Centre Manager Theresa Jordan was overjoyed when she heard the news. She commented:
This is fantastic to hear as we work hard to provide as much as we can to the neighbourhood and hope to keep growing!
The centre provide a range of services such as the Baby Club every Thursday where parents can take children of all ages into their newly decorated Playroom for games and refreshments. Other services include counselling sessions called Ray of Hope which help those with addictions and other issues.
