The Higher Education Graduation was held on Monday 7th November 2016 at Queens Theatre, Hornchurch. There were two ceremonies – one in the afternoon and one in the evening.

It was all hands on deck from the time staff arrived at the theatre to help setup at 9am to the time they left at around 8:30pm and it all ran rather smoothly.

In the foyer, whilst waiting for the ceremonies to begin, free teas and cakes were available to everyone and there was a lovely social atmosphere.

There were 150 graduates in total and the auditorium was buzzing with pride and excitement from them and their families. They looked very confident in their colourful robes as they posed for their photographs.

This year Simon Calder was our guest speaker. He went to Warwick University and looked grand in his robes. His speech was very interesting, giving his top 20 tips on how to have a successful future. He spoke about his journey through life and how he became a supporter of travelling all over the world and reporting for the BBC.

All in all it was a great event that everyone enjoyed and hopefully next year’s one will be just as good if not better!
