HAVERING College is delighted to be a finalist in the 2014 Havering Business Awards.

The college has been selected as one of three finalists in the Best in the Community (Business) category.

The entry highlights the college's numerous community projects which include:

• Community performances in West End theatres

• Construction projects undertaken for pre-schools, schools, sports clubs and charities

• A Saturday Engineering Club for budding engineers

Havering College assistant principal of Enterprise, Sally Macpherson, said: "Havering College has been an integral part of the community for more than 60 years. We see ourselves as a resource for the community, sharing our knowledge and expertise.

"We are delighted that our staff and students are potentially in line for recognition for the work they do on a wide range of projects across our local community."
This is the tenth year of the awards which will culminate in an awards ceremony hosted by Paul Ross at the Thames Chase Community Forest Centre in Pike Lane, Upminster, on Friday, 3rd October.
