A DANCE graduate from Havering College of Further and Higher Education is about to set sail on the adventure of a lifetime after landing a dream job on a luxury cruise liner.
Henry Sanders is to travel the world as a singer and dancer with the Holland America Line.
The 21-year-old from Rainham will soon be jetting off to LA to rehearse the dazzling shows which will entertain passengers as they cruise around the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
Henry, attended Chafford School in Rainham, prior to joining Havering College in 2009.
He studied for a National Diploma in Musical Theatre and completed the one year HNC Dance programme before gaining a place at the prestigious Urdang Academy in Finsbury, London.
Henry said: "I really enjoyed my time at Havering College. There was just a happy atmosphere. My teachers really helped me to grow as a performer and built my confidence. I was also a classmate of Stacey Solomon's for nearly a year which was great fun."
The Urdang Academy's Link Talent agency put Henry forward for the audition with Holland America Line which scouts the world for new talent to entertain on its cruise ships.
Henry said: I haven't travelled with work before and this is my first proper job. It's a dream job for me. We will be performing six different shows devised by the production team. I will be singing, dancing and doing some acting."
Havering College curriculum manager for Dance, Elaine O' Connor said: "Henry was the most hardworking and motivated young man, whose drive and determination has now awarded him the success he so deserves. He keeps in touch with us to let us know how he is progressing and all the performing arts staff are thrilled that he is going to be 'living the dream'."
Havering College holds Artsmark Gold status from Arts Council England in recognition of its commitment to, and excellence in, arts education.
