HAVERING College has announced a rebrand by launching a competition to redesign its logo.
The college in Hornchurch, Greater London, says its existing brand and logo has served it well for many years, but now a fresh look is needed to mark a new and exciting era.
The college is inviting current and former students to submit designs for a refreshed contemporary image to help create and establish a new and effective brand.
The winner will get a cash prize of £500 and the winning design may be developed into the college's official logo and seen by thousands.
The competition - dubbed The Big Ask - is also open to Havering and Brentwood schools with a special prize for the schools' entry voted the best.
Havering College Prinicipal Maria Thompson said: "This is an exciting opportunity for our current students, students who studied with us in the past and school pupils to be part of the rebranding exercise that will take Havering College into an exciting future.
"We know it's a 'Big Ask' but who better to design a striking and meaningful effective logo than the people who live and learn with us on a daily basis? This is a huge opportunity for people to use their artistic talents to think big and exercise their creative imaginations to play a part in the future of this great college."

The Big Ask competition is now open and closes on Friday, February 28th, 2014.
It is open to both current and past Havering College students and pupils from Havering and Brentwood Secondary Schools ONLY. Individual, partnership, class and/or group entries are welcome.
All the entries will be displayed in the college and on the website for a period of two weeks with staff, students, visitors, local stakeholders, employers, community and employer groups being invited to vote for their preferred designs.
The top three entries, as voted for, will be invited to present their designs and supporting research to a judging panel at the end of March 2014. The panel will decide on the winning design with the best going forward to a professional design team for further refinement.
The winning designer(s) will be awarded a cash prize of £500, and the winning branding may be adopted by the college who will then own the copyright for that design.
A special prize of a Microsoft Surface Tablet and a pair of Sony ZX600 Headphones will be awarded for the best school entry from schools in Havering and Brentwood.
