havering college female bricklaying student forterra bff competition

8.45am - 4pm, Monday 4th March

On the first day of National Apprenticeship week, Monday 4th March, we will be hosting the Bricklaying Forterra Females (BFF) competition, the first all-female competition of its kind in the UK.

The aim of the competition is to find the best female apprentice and student bricklayers in the country whilst highlighting their presence in a male-dominated industry. We hope that the competition will also encourage more females to consider bricklaying and other construction trades as a career option.

The competition will be held at our Rainham construction campus and will kick off at 9am, with the winners being announced at 4pm.

With industry support from  the Brick Development Association (BDA) the Association of Brick Contractors (AofBC), this event will welcome students from colleges all over the UK (a maximum of two students per college applies). There are spaces for 16 female students, which will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
