What's Involved

This course is for students who wish to study Logistics and Transport Management or business-related degree at university but who currently lack the necessary qualifications to apply.

Logistics, transport and supply chain is a great graduate career choice if you want the challenge of being thrown in the deep end. Vital to keeping other industries running the world over, logistics, transport and supply chain companies need their graduate recruits to pick things up fast, whether that’s managing warehouse operations or overseeing a factory production line.

This course is also the ideal first step to a career in Logistics and Transport Management, Business and Management.

Entry Requirements

This full-time course is designed to cater for students who have maturity and life experience beyond formal education.

It is the equivalent of two to three A levels (level 3), the normal minimum requirement for entry on to a degree course. Completed in one academic year, this is an intensive programme, but you will be assisted throughout with study skills and applying for university, until you feel confident and ready for the next level.

Where will it take me?

This Access to HE qualification is primarily to prepare students for progression to university by offering them the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

If you are looking to develop the skills necessary for entry to university, learn new skills to boost your career prospects, or change your career direction to an entirely new area, then this could be for you.

Course Assessment Method

What will I study?

The following areas will be covered:

  • Applied Business Marketing;
  • Quantitative Techniques - Statistics;
  • Spreadsheets;
  • Understanding Human Resource Management;
  • Business Planning and Budgets;
  • Procurement;
  • Effective Business Processes;
  • Supply Chain Management;
  • Transporting Goods;
  • Principles of warehousing.

There are also general units that will need to be completed including:

  • Communication - Speaking and Listening;
  • Academic Writing Skills;
  • Preparation for Higher Education;
  • Problem Solving Skills;
  • Study Skills;
  • Report writing.

You will complete a number of assignments and produce a portfolio of evidence.
