What's Involved

This course will suit those who want to work as a legal administrator or legal secretary. It is designed to expand the knowledge and skills gained from our Level 2 Legal Secretaries Diploma to an advanced level. Course work undertaken will deal with six areas of a law firm covering communication skills, advanced document preparation, and office administrative procedures.

The Level 3 Certificate consists of the following units:

  • Legal Text Processing
  • Legal Audio Processing
  • Working in the Legal Environment
  • Proofreading.

The programme of study also includes work experience.

Entry Requirements

To secure a place on this course requires:

  • Level 2 Legal Secretaries Diploma, or equivalent relevant A levels
  • 4 relevant GSCSs at Grade 4 or above including English and Maths
  • a commendable school reference indicating good attendance, punctuality, attitude and ability to study or STEP report
  • a keying-in speed of 45wpm.

An interview will be set up for you to attend, where more information will be given and to sit initial online testing in English and Maths to determine your skill levels for this course.

Where will it take me?

This vocational course is primarily designed as a route into employment as a legal secretary.

Course Assessment Method

Practical work-based exercises will prepare students for their assessments. Skills units are assessed through timed examinations set throughout the academic year.
