What's Involved

CIPD Intermediate Level 5 is a part time evening course, over 18 months duration for learners higher positions within the role of Human Resources. This qualification gives you accredited status of CIPD Affiliated Membership.

You will study 6 units which will provide the knowledge to work within a Human Resources job role.

To compplete the Certificate the units are:

  • Developing Professional Practice;
  • Business Issues and the Contexts of Human Resources;
  • Using Information in Human Resources;
  • Managing and Coordinating the Human Resources Function;
  • Resourcing and Talent Planning;
  • Contemporary Developments in Employment Relations;
  • Human Resources Service Delivery .

To complete the Diploma there are 2 additional units:

  • Reward Management;
  • Employment Law.

Entry Requirements

You will have gained the Level 3 CIPD qualification or currently be working as a Human Resources Officer/Advisor level.

You will need to compete coursework during the programme so your English writing skills need to be at least to GCSE standard.

Where will it take me?

Following completion of the CIPD Level 5 you may continue to study on the Advanced Level 7 CIPD course. You are also able to apply for jobs as an HR Manager or more senior position with HRM. Previous students have all managed to secure higher positions following the successful completion of the course.

Valued by employers, CIPD qualifications help you to develop the business understanding and technical knowledge that employers look for. They demonstrate that you’ve achieved a certain level of knowledge in HR and L&D.

Course Assessment Method

During the course you will be assessed by submitting coursework. This will be in the format of reports, written research documentation and Powerpoint presentations, both individually and within a group.
