What's Involved

AAT Level 1 is designed to give learners a gentle introduction to the world of accountancy and consists of four modules including Accounting in a Professional environment, Creating Business Documents, Essential Accounting procedures and Mathematics for Accounting.

AAT Level 2 covers the day-to-day elements of accounting including the principles of double-entry bookkeeping, business documents and the recording of day-to-day transactions up to trial balance level. Elements of Costing will provide an introduction to Cost and Management Accounting. Working Effectively in Accounts and Finance looks at some of the administrative aspects of working in an accounts or office environment including scheduling/prioritisation of work, teamwork and office communication.

Entry Requirements

Candidates will have at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) to include Maths and English. Applicants new to this college will be required to sit an online English and Maths test to assess their skill levels.

Where will it take me?

Learners who successfully complete Level 2 will be able to progress onto the AAT Level 3 Full-Time Programme.

Learners will be able to use the qualification to gain employment in most finance and accountancy environments or can undertake Level 3 through the Modern Apprenticeship scheme.

Course Assessment Method

Your level is assessed through one 90-minute online examination with results being immediately available.

Most Level 2 modules are assessed through individual online examinations, with results being immediately available. The Working Effectively module has an online Synoptic examination which assesses learners on aspects of the whole syllabus as well as that module.
