What's Involved

AAT Level 3 emphasises the reports produced by businesses at the end of accounting periods including the final accounts and VAT returns. Costing examines how businesses measure/control their costs and use cost information to make decisions while Professional Ethics examines morals and behaviour in an accounts or financial environment. The Spreadsheet Software module will cover a wide range of the main functions of the Excel Spreadsheet package including construction of spreadsheets, manipulation of data and presentation of information.

Entry Requirements

Candidates will have completed AAT Level 2 and will likely have achieved the equivalent of grade Cs (4s) in English and Maths. Your background and experience will also be discussed at a positive interview with course staff.

Where will it take me?

Learners who successfully complete Level 3 will be able to progress onto the AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma, use the UCAS points to gain access to University or gain exemption from early stages of most other professional accounting qualifications.

Learners will be able to use the qualification to gain employment in most finance and accountancy environments or can undertake Level 4 through the Modern Apprenticeship scheme.

Course Assessment Method

Most modules are assessed through individual online examinations, with results being immediately available. The Professional Ethics and Spreadsheets modules have one combined Synoptic Assessment that also draws in content from other modules. Candidates who score highly enough across the whole level will be able to achieve Merit and Distinction grades.
