What's Involved

Are you interested in electrical installation work and wishing to become a qualified electrician? If so, this qualification is designed for new entrants to the Electrotech industry, providing you with the basic skills and experience you need. The course is available either full- or part-time. The part-time option is taken over either two evenings or one-day per week. This programme will be of particular interest to adult learners.

The course provides practical and theoretical tuition. There are a number of practical tasks that you will need to carry out during the year. This is combined with a high level of underpinning knowledge in workshop/site safety, electrical principles, science and regulations. It is approximately 50:50 theory/practical.

Entry Requirements

You will preferably already have GCSEs Grade A-C in English, maths and science. However, adult entry (over 19) will be considered based on work and other experience. Other Level 2 qualifications may be acceptable and are by agreement at interview.
You will also need a satisfactory reference and interview.

It is preferred that candidates are working in, or moving into the Electrical Contracting Industry.
