What's Involved

This introductory course provides a solid foundation to develop your skills and understanding within the art, design and media industries.

Throughout the course you will develop practical skills across multiple disciplines. This will include lessons on the following:

  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Photography

You will also undertake a unit in communication and complete your own end of year project that allows you to utilize the various skills you have acquired.

If you have not yet achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade 3 / D), or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade 2 / E or below).

Entry Requirements

  • At least 4 GCSE’s at grade 2 - 1 (E - G) or above (including English and maths).

Where will it take me?

You could progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design.

Course Assessment Method

You will be assessed through written and practical assignments.
