Our ground-breaking course in logistics also includes a business qualification. This is the ideal choice if you like co-ordinating projects and working under pressure to tight schedules.

You will study:

Business, logistics and supply chain management - Chartered Institute of Transport & Logistics Level 1 (Award) and 2 (Certificate) as well as Business BTEC Level 2.

As well as discovering transport, freight forwarding and warehousing in the classroom, our links with freight forwarders and other operators, such as the Port of Tilbury and DP London Gateway Port will give you the opportunity to see how these services operate.

You will also undertake 30 hours of work experience with local logistics companies.

Logistics employers need to attract new talent into the industry, especially women and those from underrepresented groups, to replace those who leave or retire. This Apprenticeship has been designed to attract those who are not sure which part of the logistics sector suits them best and allows them to obtain the basic grounding before specializing. This will encourage both Apprentices and existing staff to move on to gain a qualifications in Logistics Operations or in another aspect of Logistics, to help increase productivity and profitability.

You will attend sessions aimed at providing you with the knowledge required to pass the end of year examination whilst you develop a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively run a transport business.

You will study the following units:

  • Operator licensing
  • Driver licensing
  • Drivers' hours and working time
  • Record keeping
  • Maintenance and vehicle operations
  • Financial management & vehicle costing.

This course is part-time and is delivered in the evening.
