The Enterprise and Employability Hub
Whether you want to start your own business or get off to a flying start in the working world our new Enterprise and Employability Hub will give your career and CV a boost.
We’ll equip you with the experience and attributes employers look for when they recruit. And, if you’re a young entrepreneur or likely to be self-employed after studying with us, we’ll set you up for the rewarding challenge of starting and running your own business.
Our calendar is packed with really useful workshops, master-classes and events that widen your skills, put you ahead of the competition and prepare you for the world of work.
Helping you get your dream job
- Creating an excellent first impression is essential if you want to secure your ideal job. We’ll help get you noticed with sessions on stand out CVs, job applications and interview techniques.
- Watch out for work experience opportunities available with local employers and onsite at the College. This real life experience is great for your CV and will develop your business and customer service skills too.
- Our Jobmatch service also brings together our job hunting students and local employers looking for the right candidate.
Support with starting a business or becoming self-employed
We know starting your own business or becoming self-employed can seem scary. But you don’t need to worry - we can help you turn your idea into reality.
We’ve linked up with business start-up experts to get your new business underway. You can call on us for funding advice, help with writing your business plan, assistance with marketing your product or service and support once your business is up and running.
Over the next year we’re planning to offer desk space rental at a very low rate to new start ups or current businesses who want to take the next step up from working from home. This will be available at the Innovation Centre in Brentwood and at the Skills Academy in Romford town centre. Watch this space.
