Is this course for me?
This course will give you an insight into the Business and ICT sector. It will enable you to enhance your skills and strengths so that you can progress onto a further course of study or into employment.
What will I study?
OCR Level 1 National Certificate in Business and ICT consists of 12 modules, including:
Working as a Team in Business; Communication Skills in Business and ICT and Presentation Software.
Alongside this you will study literacy, numeracy and IT - the course also includes a weekly tutorial.
These are the compulsory subjects:
Business and ICT;
Numeracy;
Literacy;
IT.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal requirements for this course, however, you must have basic literacy and numeracy skills. You will be interviewed and assessed on your numeracy and literacy skills prior to commencing the course.

Successful completion can lead to a range of Level 2 courses here at Havering College.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed throughout the year.
All units for Business and ICT are coursework / portfolio based.
Literacy and numeracy have computer based multiple choice tests.
IT has in-class tests throughout the year.
