A one year programme which aims to develop your skills and understanding of the industry as you build a firm foundation for progression onto University.

You will participate in interactive lectures, Seminars and debates both with your class and with guest speakers. These will cover a range of topics designed to enhance your knowledge and understanding of the following key areas within counselling, social care and related professions.

  • Making sense of counselling intervention

  • The role of the counsellor

  • Ethical responsibilities and framework

  • Counselling values

  • Counselling in a diverse society

  • Meeting the Needs of Different Client Groups and placement providers

  • Research Skills

You will also work on your academic, study, literacy and examination skills alongside preparation for university.
