The college works with all schools in Havering and other surrounding boroughs.
We offer a number of programmes that are devised in conjunction with the schools and that accommodate learners aged 14-16. In order to participate in these courses, the school will need to contact the Schools Liaison team at the college and discuss needs and requirements. These courses do not attract central funding and are paid for by the schools.
Some 14-16 learners study at the college on an in-fill basis with post 16 learners. In each of these cases an assessment needs to take place to see if the young learner will be able to achieve on the chosen programme. These learners are normally in year 11 of statutory school age. There is a charge for these courses too, as they do not attract central funding.
Every learner in this case is considered on a case by case basis, taking into account ability, maturity, previous learning and so on.
The Foundation Skills Area of the college have programmes that take learners (up to level 1) who would normally be in year 11 of school, on a full time basis. These programmes consist of basic Maths and English, as well as IT and work skills. There is a charge for these programmes.
