Photography exhibition puts students in the frame
Havering College HND Media Production class and lecturer Stephen Pick are contributing to a photography exhibition - London Portal - at the Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch.
The exhibition has been organised entirely by the students themselves as part of their studies.
London Portal is open for viewing now and will close following an official presentation event on Friday, May 4. All are welcome to attend a drinks reception on the night from 5pm-7pm.
The title London Portal was assigned to the exhibition as it brings together five distinct perspectives on this great metropolis.
Exhibition manager and student Kirstie Burrows, 19 of Hornchurch, said: "I have always wanted a career in events, so being the manager helps me to gain experience and showcases my abilities and strengths."
Curator and student Beth Whitehead, 20 of Hornchurch, said: "My role in this project has been to oversee the design, floor plan and collection. I have found the experience enjoyable, as it has helped developed my organisation skills. Our photographs depict London as a diverse, vibrant and expanding city."
