Next week marks the highlight of the Havering College’s higher education calendar when we will be welcoming students and their families to The Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch for the Higher Education Graduation Ceremony – and we can’t wait.
Our graduates have achieved something very special, and together, this will be an evening of pride, celebration, and excitement for what their futures will hold, now that all their hard work has paid off!
We have a very special guest speaker for the evening – BBC journalist, writer and broadcaster, Samira Ahmed, who will be sharing her journey to success and tips on how to create a successful future. Away from more serious issues surrounding the world today, Samira has shown her quick wit on Have I Got News for You, her extensive knowledge on Celebrity Mastermind (which she won), and her cooking skills on Celebrity Masterchef.
“As graduates, you become part of the college’s history, traditions and memories – a history we will continue to build into the future with our vision for 2020. We hope you will act as an inspiration to others, to aspire to what you have achieved, to change their lives through the power of education, and to develop the skills of lifelong learners. As you celebrate, I hope you will join me in paying tribute to the staff of the college, who make an essential contribution to the success of our higher education students and programmes.” – Maria Thompson, Principal & CEO, Havering College of Further Education.
