Havering College presents new musical 'Class' written by our International Crossover Project Manager, Peter Dayson. The musical tells the story of two classes from adjacent schools – one mainstream and one special school – through the interactions and relationships of several main characters including dinner ladies, teachers and pupils. Whilst preparing for a singing competition, their perceptions of each other and their behaviours towards each other are explored.
‘Class’ is scattered with humour, a ‘feel good’ ending and is an evening for all ages to enjoy.
The entire cast and crew for the musical have been assembled from students, staff, carers and volunteers at the college, as well as pupils from main stream schools and special schools in Havering.
The Crossover project, an inclusive, community scheme which enables students from the college and across the Borough to put on a full scale musical, in a prime West End theatre, is now in its 12th year. Previous productions include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Godspell and Hair.
The musical will be showing for one night only at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Haymarket London on Sunday 7th May. Tickets are available for £19.75 (Box Office: 01708 462470)
