Mitsubishi Warehousing and Logistics
Mitsubishi Freight Drivers

The qualification is an integral benefit of the Freight Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) – a Transport for London (TfL) led membership scheme that aims to transform road freight delivery in London. It falls within the Transport for London (TfL) Freight Plan.

Following two successful pilots earlier in the year, the LFB is now a BTEC award with two additional specialist London units for which successful candidates receive a TfL certificate. The London Freight Booster provides the underpinning knowledge for students to progress to the full Level 2 NVQ in Carry and Deliver Goods.

Havering College Curriculum Manager for transport and logistics Justin Rowley is delivering the LFB course at Mitsubishi Electric in East London at 6am in the morning to fit in with company schedules.

NIBS Buses

Havering College is now offering a unique opportunity to the Bus and Coach Industry to gain formal qualifications which will also provide the means to fulfil statutory periodic driver training obligations for Driver Certificate of Professional Competency (DCPC).

A number of fully funded training programmes have been developed that have been specifically tailored to the Bus and Coach sector.

Feedback from employers has been very positive, not least because we are able to provide a training package which not only enables drivers to acquire a national qualification, but also addresses the mandatory training requirements as approved by the Joint Approvals Unit (JAUPT).

Havering College, working in partnership with NIBS Coaches and the Essex Confederation of Passenger Transport, have recently successfully delivered a pilot course with students achieving a 100% pass rate in the BTEC Level 2 in Transporting Passengers by Bus and Coach. All drivers who participated have now also received their driver’s CPC card. Drivers’ feedback has been very positive of the quality of the training they received. More courses are planned.

Drivers also have the opportunity to progress on to the Level 2 NVQ in Passenger Carrying Vehicle Driving (Bus & Coach) which is gained solely by work based assessment.
We aim to deliver all training as flexibly as possible and accommodate your individual requirements.
Havering College is registered with the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) to deliver training which meets with Driver CPC requirements.

Steve Nelson, Managing Director, NIBS Buses, Wickford. Essex, said:
"Havering College have been professional, flexible and responsive, a real
joy to work with.
