BUSINESSES & EMPLOYERS   |   Transport and Logistics

We recognise that professional drivers are already equipped with a great deal of skills and experience for their job. However, there is now a unique opportunity to gain formal qualifications which will also provide the means to fulfil statutory periodic driver training obligations for Driver Certificate of Professional Competency (DCPC).

A number of training programmes have been developed that have been specifically tailored to the Passenger Transport & Freight Logistics sectors. Courses are fully funded and can therefore be delivered free of charge to both the employer and employee. Courses are delivered flexibly at a time and place to suit, thus ensuring minimum disruption to working patterns and organisational needs.

The core programmes on offer for professional drivers are:

Level 2 BTEC in Carry and Deliver Goods
Level 2 NVQ in Carry and Deliver Goods
Level 2 NVQ in Driving Goods Vehicles
Level 2 NVQ Passenger Carrying Vehicle Driving (bus & coach)
Level 2 NVQ in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving (Taxi & Private Hire)
Level 2 NVQ in Warehousing and Storage
Level 2 BTEC Certificate in Transporting passengers by bus and coach
Level 2 BTEC in Transporting passengers by Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle
Level 3 in Logistics Operations Management
London Freight Booster Technical Certificate

BTEC qualifications provide the underpinning knowledge for progression to the NVQ, a BTEC is gained through classroom delivery sessions and an NVQ gained through workplace based assessment.
Where required, Literacy and Numeracy skills can also be delivered within the above programmes.

NVQ’s are equivalent to 5 GCSE’s at grade A* - C and are completely work related and competence based.
