Hunt is on for Apprentice of the Year
Havering College has signed on to be the latest sponsor of the Havering Business Awards.
The college will be putting its name to the Apprentice of the Year category – which looks for an employee on a learning scheme who really stands out.
Havering College has been a sponsor of the awards for many years.
Havering College principal Noel Otley said: “It makes sense for us to sponsor this category. We’re committed to learning locally and our mission is to be a college provided by the community for the community. We passionately believe in the power of learning to improve lives, and the award will go to someone on a recognised learning scheme who has shown outstanding progress and commitment to their personal development and progression.”
In previous years, Havering College has sponsored the Business Hero and Heroine award, Business Woman of the Year and Excellence through Apprenticeship Training.
The college with campuses and training facilities in Hornchurch, Harold Hill, Rainham and Brentwood has over 11,000 students from a variety of backgrounds, and offers education and training from Basic Skills to Bachelors’ Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas.
Mr Otley said: “It is the range of the college’s work which makes it a local success story. We support progression from age 14 right the way through to degree level. The latest Ofsted report recognises us as a good college with a harmonious atmosphere.
“Here at Havering College we put the needs of local businesses first. Our courses can be tailored to meet the needs of individuals and employers and delivered at one of our sites or in the work place, in a flexible and supportive way to ensure achievement.”
