If you’ve been made redundant or are unemployed, NewStart is a Havering College programme designed to improve your skills and help you get back in to work more quickly.
The programme can provide you with advice, guidance and re-training opportunities. We will support you in accessing the right training package, working with your existing skills to improve your opportunities in the job market.
Support on offer:
You will be offered a range of education and training services to help you retrain or upskill for new employment.
- The training will be flexible and accommodate current benefit restrictions/rules.
- We will offer practical help and support, free of charge, which will give you the skills and confidence to get back into work.
- We will then support you back into work and on to further training through adult courses with the college.
You will attend a 12 employability workshop that includes:
- CV Writing, Job Search and Interview Techniques
- Communication, Team Working, Problem Solving
- and initial assessment for literacy and numeracy
- This will be delivered by Havering College in a back to work Seminar and employability workshops.
- Once you have completed your 12 hrs we will move you onto a industry focused programme.
- This may be in college or with one of our longstanding experienced partners.
