Here are a few things people like to know
- What if I don't have any qualifications?
You can apply to courses at the college that do not require qualifications as part of the entry criteria. In these cases you must have a successful interview and/or a good portfolio, as well as a positive school reference. Courses that don't require qualifications on entry are usually offered at entry levels and level 1.
If you are interested in Higher Education, and don't have any qualifications, you may consider an Access to Higher Education course.
- What if I haven't got my exam results yet?
If you are taking exams, you will be interviewed and offered a place, the place will be conditional on your exam results.
If your exam results are better than expected, you could be offered a place on a higher level course, and if they are lower than expected, you may be offered a place on another level, appropriate to your exam results.
- What if I need support for my learning?
-
Support for learning comes in various forms. If you have a learning difficulty and/or disability, you will be assessed on application (you must declare this on your enrolment form).

- How do I apply to the course that I have chosen?
-
It is advisable to attend one of the college open days, before you decide on the course that is right for you. But don't worry if you haven't as we will still be able to help you.
Once you have completed an application form, and our threshold staff have confirmed that they have received it, you will be given the name of your personal advisor.
If you have any queries, just call your threshold advisor and they can track your application and tell you at which stage it is at.
You will then be invited to an interview at the college, after which you will be contacted to advise you of the outcome. (If you are under 18, your parents/guardians are welcome to come with you to your interview).
Your learning support needs and any other issues relating to your application will be discussed at your interview, as well as the course requirements and expectations.
If you have any other questions, feel free to get in touch.
